ABOUT TRAILERPARKIA

Welcome to the ABOUT page!!! ^_^/ Thanks for clicking around. I'm not really sure what to put on this page except for every single little thought I have about my webcomic but I guess I can start with introducing myself.

Hi! I'm Em (or Emmy is fine too) and I'm the artist and writer of Trailerparkia. I'm some 20 year old guy from the East Coast of the United States. I love drawing, playing drums, web design, old tech, snails, listening to tunes, and all sorts of other shit too but I'm gonna keep it brief. If you wanna learn more about me, feel free to check out my personal Neocities webpage: burgercites.neocities.org

Here's a little drawing of me. I look goofy. -->

Now, for my next trick, I will write a FAQ!!! Because I am too lazy to write about things that people haven't asked me yet. If you want to ask questions that aren't on this FAQ feel free to do so in my chatbox :P

STUFF THAT IS FREQUENTLY ASKED OF ME . . .

Q: What program/hardware/software do you use to draw?
A: I use a really early iPad Air model, the Apple Pencil that plugs in, and Procreate. Lavish, I know...

Q: What inspired you when making Trailerparkia?
A: Honestly, that's a question with a really long answer. A lot of things inspired me. In terms of aesthetic, character design, etc etc, I was inspired a lot by the style that I would see all the cool older people I wanted to look like wearing when I was a little kid (Aka the clothes that I wear nowadays, that I have the ability to style myself). I don't know how to describe this sort of style other than early 2000s older brother, or cool dad who listens to nu metal and wears jorts, DC sneakers, and Tapout tshirts...but it's the style I love to dress in and also base a lot of my art off of. I designed all of the characters with this sort of era in mind, and eventually picked the setting to be in the early 2000s, not just for the aesthetics, but also for the events, pop culture, music culture, and all sorts of stuff happening in that time period. In terms of being inspired for character personalities and such, I was very much inspired by my friends, and also my own personality. I like to think every character has a bit of my personality weaved into them. A lot of them are based off of people in my life, like my friends and my family too. (Crazy awesome fun fact: Shelley and Duncan are a representation of my relationship with my real life mom!!) Basically, this whole comic is just a big fat gumbo pot of all sorts of stuff I like.

Q: What did you want to make Trailerparkia about?
A: Another question with a bit of a long answer. If I boil the story down, Trailerparkia is literally just a story about real life problems that people have in their early twenties, but instead of normal ass people, I used cool ass movie monsters instead. I wanted to write a story that is fun to read, but gets you attached to every individual character and all of their good and bad traits. I also wanted to sort of take experiences that I am currently going through in my life, and write about them, as I feel like a lot of writing makes your early twenties seem so fun and cool, when in reality it's a pretty tough time in life for a lot of people, including myself.
